Job Summary: The Theatre Cleaner maintains the cleanliness and hygiene of Venables Theatre, ensuring that all areas of the theatre are clean, sanitized, and presentable for patrons and performers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Auditorium Cleaning: Vacuum and spot-clean carpets, wipe down seats, mop floors and ensure the auditorium is free of debris.
- Backstage/ Stage Areas: Maintain cleanliness in dressing rooms, green rooms, and corridors; dispose of trash and recyclables appropriately. Sweep and dry mop stage.
- Dressing Room: Clean and sanitize surfaces, mop floors, dispose of trash and recycling, clean, sanitize and restock restrooms.
- Lobby and Common Areas: Sweep and mop floors; occasional spot carpet cleaning, clean and dust furniture and fixtures; sanitize table tops, clean glass surfaces and windows.
- Concession Area: Clean and sanitize surfaces, mop floor, dispose of trash and recycling.
- Restrooms: Clean and sanitize sinks, toilets, and floors; restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
- Waste Management: Empty trash and recycling receptacles throughout the theatre and ensure proper disposal.
- Safety Compliance: Use cleaning chemicals safely and adhere to all health and safety regulations.
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 25 lbs, standing for extended periods, and performing repetitive tasks.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
- Applicant must be bondable and insured.
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate the theatre's schedule.
- Cleaning products and supplies are provided
- The role involves exposure to cleaning chemicals; proper personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided.
