Carla and Phyllis aren’t moving up at the post office and believe that big money is waiting for people with entrepreneurial spirit and sound business judgement. They have lots of the spirit but little of the judgement, and their new restaurant flounders. Zippy’s, a popular crosstown spot, has been crowded ever since a notorious mobster was shot there over 20 years ago. What if someone could get murdered in their restaurant? A farce, suitable for all ages. |

Retired couple, Jim and Hilda Bloggs, are decent, houseproud and hopelessly behind the times. Jim hears on the radio that a pre-emptive strike is to be expected. With his government leaflets as his guide, he builds a refuge and gathers emergency rations in their English country cottage. After the Bomb, they emerge to a devastated world. Expecting the Powers-That-Be to rescue them, they wait, but eventually drift gently into the darkness, loving each other and uttering fragments of prayer. This tale is clever, humourous, credible, and ultimately heart-breaking. |
