Venables Theatre strives to meet the needs of all patrons. We have taken measures to ensure the comfort and safety of all theatre goers so you can relax and enjoy a great event!
Accessible Seating
For our guests using wheelchairs, Venables Theatre has an elevator to bring you to a row of seating at the top of the auditorium. There is also space for your companion to join you. To ensure that these seats are not booked by those who don't require them, please call the box office to reserve at 250-498-1626.
Mobility Devices
Our volunteers are trained and ready to assist those guests using walkers to get to their seats. We recommend booking seats in the front row. A volunteer will see you to your seat then safely store your walker for you until intermission or the end of the show.
Service Dogs
Services dogs are permitted in the theatre but only in specific seating and theatre staff must be informed ahead of time. Please call the box office at 250-498-1626 for more information and to book your seats.
Auris Hearing Loop
Venables Theatre is equipped with an Auris Hearing Loop. Auris Hearing Loops maximize the benefit of hearing aids fitted with “TeleCoils”. The T-Coil receives the wirelessly transmitted signal from the hearing loop, (most hearing aids ( 70% +) are already fitted with T-Coils). The Hearing Loop can be accessed from any seat in the theatre. Click here for more information.
Access 2 Program
Venables Theatre is enrolled in the Access 2 program. People with disabilities who require a support person carry a personalized Access 2 Card with them. The card grants 1 free admission for the support person, while the person with the disability (Access 2 cardholder) pays the regular admission fee. Click here for more information on this program. To book your seats please call 250-498-1626 as free admission cannot be booked online.
Box Office
For those patrons preferring to purchase tickets in person, our box office is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00am - 3:00pm. You can also purchase tickets over the phone by calling 250-498-1626 during the same hours or leave a message outside of business hours. As always, tickets can be purchased online 24/7 by clicking here.
Seat Size
The width of the seats in our auditorium is 16", and the distance between the inside of the armrests is 19". Patrons requiring a little more room can request a seat in Rows L or M which have stackable, banquet style chairs with no arm rests. To request a seat in Row L or M, please call 250-498-1626.
Parking
Venables Theatre has limited accessible parking as our parking lot is predominately utilized during the day by the high school. If you require an accessible parking space or a little extra time, be sure to arrive early. Parking for Venables Theatre is in the main lot of the high school. You may also park on Gala St., Fairview Rd., the lot on the South end of the theatre or next door at the elementary school.
